Local Perspectives Ep 6.2 Feat Katie Provenza of Future Friends Design Co.

We are back with the second installment of a conversation I had looked forward to for months. If you missed part one, it’s available here.

This interview was recorded on May 19th. The theme of this segment might be summed up as, ‘things will work out for you!’’ It doubles as a love letter to the class of 2020 and by extension, all of Gen Z. Katie’s experiences in the design industry show that the very opportunities that don’t seem glamorous at first can shine brightly in retrospect. They often turn out to be launching pads that propel us to our desired destination. We just can’t always perceive that until later.

As is often the case, we talk “community over competition” and what marks a quintessential day in the Ancient City. You’ll also hear Katie’s take on how the role of formal training in landing a career is changing. (There is no one size fits all approach here.)

I’m grateful for what proved to be another enriching discussion that highlights just how much we have in common across cultures and upbringings. I’m grateful for Katie’s time, enthusiasm and beaming smile. Enjoy!
